Since 2013, ACRS has taken the pulse of Australian shoppers to investigate what drives their shopping behaviour, their channel usage and preferences, category purchases, influential touchpoints as well as their general shopping experience within and around shopping centres. Applying an evidence-based approach, we are able to provide rich insight into the minds of consumers and Australia's retail landscape.
ACRS Retail Monitor 2024
ACRS surveyed 1,002 shoppers across Australia in June 2024. This report outlines important factors that shoppers consider when making non-grocery purchases, as well as highlights shoppers' preferences for and experiences of physical and online stores. Notably, compared to last year, the shopping experience between physical and online stores has widened on key features, such as customer service and sales and promotions.
Retail sustainability spotlight 2024
ACRS conducted research into the attitudes and behaviours of Australian shoppers towards sustainability. In June 2024, ACRS surveyed 1,002 shoppers across Australia and found that over half of sustainable shoppers decide a product is sustainable based on if the packaging or product is recyclable.
Cost of living and consumer retail behaviour 2024
ACRS conducted research into consumer perceptions and attitudes towards cost of living and retail spend. We found that more than half of Australians believe that prices across a range of retail categories are unfair.
