Meet the academics who want to teach the art of agreeing to disagree
Brave Conversations is a new initiative from M3CS and the Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation, designed to help students and educators engage more thoughtfully with disagreement.
In a time of deepening polarisation, finding ways to talk across differences has never felt more urgent. Brave Conversations is a new initiative developed by M3CS in partnership with the Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation (ACJC), aimed at equipping students and educators with the skills to engage in meaningful and respectful dialogue. Led by Dr Dan Heller and Dr Farid Zaid, the project combines training, research and teaching to foster intellectual humility, curiosity and compassion in the face of disagreement. From campus workshops to pilot programs in undergraduate classrooms, Brave Conversations is helping shape a culture of open inquiry and constructive engagement. This is a story about learning how to listen, how to challenge, and how to connect.
