Chris Ruane is a former British Member of Parliament with 21 years of service, known for his pioneering efforts in mindfulness and wellbeing. He established and chaired the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Mindfulness and held officer roles in APPGs on Wellbeing Economics, Arts, Health and Wellbeing, and Gut Health, reflecting his broader commitment to advancing public health and wellbeing.
A dedicated advocate for mindfulness, Chris served on the board of the Oxford Mindfulness Centre for nine years and continues to play a leadership role as Chair of the Mindfulness Initiative's Global Network, which works to integrate mindfulness practices into legislatures worldwide.
His expertise has made him a sought-after speaker on mindfulness and wellbeing, presenting at the United Nations, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris, and the Dalai Lama's Mind and Life Conference in Munich.
