News and outreach highlights
Pathogen treatment one step closer: Professor Greg Challis and his team have made a breakthrough in understanding the enzymes that assemble the antibiotic enaclyoxin. This brings scientists one step closer to finding new antibiotics to tackle Acinetobacter baumannii, one of the most dangerous pathogens in the world. This research was published in two Nature Chemistry papers, the first identifying the enzymes and the second reporting on the structures of one of the enzymes and a carrier protein that interacts with it.
