Sleep Disorders Research

Welcome to the Edwards Lab

Good sleep is fundamental to general health and performance. Our mission is to understand the physiological processes responsible for a variety of common sleep disorders, in order to develop better and more personalised treatment options for the many Australians suffering from the consequences of poor sleep.

We're part of the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute, and a member of the Neuroscience Program
and the Department of Physiology.

Associate Professor Bradley Edwards

Our research

Our aim is that, by understanding the physiological processes that control sleep and wakefulness, we will be able to develop novel treatments and preventative measures for several common sleep disorders.

Two of the key research themes of my lab are:

  1. Developing novel therapies for the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea
  2. Understanding why obesity causes sleep problems
