Mentor Reports
The Mentor is required to complete two reports with their Pre-Service Teacher during the placement, the Mid-Placement Review half way through the placement and the final eReport on the last day.
Mid-Placement Review (Half Way)
The Mid-Placement Review is to be completed approximately halfway through the placement. It requires the Mentor to:
- Discuss and document strengths, areas for development, and next steps.
- Provide quick yes/no feedback about your PSTs professionalism.
- Flag any concerns and request support from the PPC team if needed.
Launch Mid-Placement Review
Upon submission, a complete copy of the Mid-Placement Review will automatically be sent to the Mentor and the Monash PPC Team. The PST will only receive their strengths, areas for development and suggested strategies.
IMPORTANT!
The Mid-Placement Review can only be completed by the Mentor or the Organiser of Teaching Placement. Pre-Service Teachers are not permitted to complete a Mid-Placement Review under any circumstances - doing so will result in referral to the Academic Progress Committee.
eReport (Final Day)
The eReport will ask you, the mentor, to:
- assess the PST against each APST required of their placement level
- respond yes/no if your PST has demonstrated key professional capacities, such as professionalism, initiative, involvement, etc.,
- provide a final recommendation as to whether the PST has completed the placement satisfactorily, and
- provide written feedback to support the continued development of your PST.
Launch eReport
Upon submission, copies of the eReport will be sent to you (the Mentor), your Pre-Service Teacher, the Organiser of Teaching Placement at your organisation, and the university.
IMPORTANT!
The eReport can only be completed by the Mentor or the Organiser of Teaching Placement. Pre-Service Teachers are not permitted to complete an eReport under any circumstances - doing so will result in referral to the Academic Progress Committee.
