Shougang-Monash Low-Carbon Metallurgy Workshop
PTL at Monash University had the honour of hosting four representatives from Shougang Research Institute of Technology, including the Vice President, Director of Research Management, HR Director, and Chief Engineer. We hosted a half-day workshop on low-carbon metallurgy, with strong engagement between the Shougang delegation and five relevant Monash Engineering hubs and centres.
Shougang’s main collaboration interests align strongly with Monash’s capabilities, encompassing areas such as blast furnace condition prediction, 3D printing for steel products, CO2 capture and utilisation, energy-saving technologies, as well as recycling and utilisation of metallurgical solid waste.
We extend our sincere thanks to all speakers, participants, and organisers whose contributions made this workshop a meaningful step toward a cleaner, more sustainable future for metallurgy. We look forward to continuing these conversations and building partnerships that continue to drive real-world impact.
