Aastha Pant

Aastha recently completed her PhD at Monash University and has a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from NIILM University, India and a Masters of Research from University of Southern Queensland, Australia.

After her undergraduate degree, Aastha entered academia and worked as a teaching assistant in Nepal. Her research interests include ethics in AI, socio-technical aspects of software engineering, software systems and cybersecurity.

Her PhD project is titled, 'Enabling Ethical AI – a socio-technical perspective' and aims to explore AI developers' perceptions about ethics in AI. It also focuses on investigating their awareness about them, challenges, approaches and needs in implementing AI ethics.
