Oxfam Bangladesh

PROTIC II – Facilitating tacit knowledge transfer among Bangladeshi fisherfolk

Bangladeshi fisher boat captains hold a wealth of knowledge integral to the livelihood and continuity of their trade. This expertise, however, is not often explicitly and formerly passed on – putting the profession at risk.

Together with Oxfam Bangladesh and the captains, we identified the software and information needs of this marginalised community and co-created a digital solution for accurate recordkeeping and transfer of this crucial tacit knowledge to apprentice captains.
