Kashumi Madampe

Kashumi completed her PhD on understanding requirements changes (e.g. feature requests) and how software practitioners respond to them emotionally.
She has made key contributions to both industry and academia by coming up with a taxonomy of requirements changes, recommendations including decision guides for better handling requirements changes, a tool to capture and monitor emotions (in collaboration with undergraduate students she supervised) for software practitioners, and future research ideas.
Kashumi takes a mixed-methods approach in her research where she mainly uses grounded theory, and statistical analysis.
Her research interests are human and social aspects of Software Engineering, HCI, and agile. Prior to the PhD program, she worked in the industry in the capacity of a Project Manager and a Business Analyst.
Example of her Emotimonitor Trello plug-in.
