Lakshana is studying how disruptive technologies like GenAI impact agile projects in the software development industry, with a special focus on how such tools impact the role of the software project managers, new skills requirements for project managers in the GenAI era and develop guidelines for ethical and responsible use of GenAI by software project managers.

She has a Master of Philosophy in Multidisciplinary Studies (Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka) (2023-2024) and a  B. Sc. in Business Information Systems (Special) (Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka) (2017-2022).
