Lankani's PhD research explores the integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in higher education using an AI-driven constructive alignment framework, with a particular emphasis on ethical AI use. The study examines how generative AI tools can be meaningfully embedded in teaching and learning practices, and how learning outcomes can be redesigned to better align with evolving industry needs.

She holds a First Class Honours degree in Business Management, with a specialisation in Human Resource Management, from the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. And completed a Master of Technology in Enterprise Systems and Business Analytics at Federation University Australia, graduating with a GPA of 6.25.

With over four years of experience in the Australian education sector, Lankani currently serves as a lecturer, delivering undergraduate courses and contributing to key learning and teaching initiatives. This professional engagement has inspired her research interests, particularly in the ethical and effective integration of AI into higher education.
