Samuel Ferino

Samuel Ferino is a PhD student with the research goal of guiding the new generation of IT professionals regarding the impact and effects of Large Language Model-based technology adoption.

Samuel received a Bachelor in Information Technology and a Master in Computer Science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Natal, Brazil. His postgraduate experience combines academia and industry.

  • Samuel worked as a research software developer in a Research and Development (R&D) project in 5G  involving Lenovo and the UFRN.
  • Samuel's master's research on DevOps Education has proven highly influential with relevant publications.
  • Samuel's master's dissertation gained first place in the Software Engineering Doctoral and Master Competition at the 14th Brazilian Conference on Software: Theory and Practice and in the Software Quality Thesis and Dissertation Contest at the 22nd Brazilian Software Quality Symposium.
  • Samuel also received the best paper award at the 35th Brazilian Symposium on Software Engineering.
  • His research interests include MLOps, DevOps, Large Language Models, and Software Engineering Education.
