Understanding and Supporting Multidisciplinary Data Intensive Software Teams
The predicted increase in demand for DataOps – data engineering in complex data intensive software systems – will continue to drive the need for software engineers, data scientists and domain experts to effectively collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams. Various challenges experienced by these teams are only beginning to emerge. Initial exploratory research has identified that multi-disciplinary teams working with multiple data sources need to deal with data challenges as a significant part of their projects with negative impacts. In this project, we continue to work towards understanding how these challenges are experienced by individual roles and team members in the multi-disciplinary teams how they deal with these challenges in particular, and what support they need from tools, processes to support their collaborations.
