Design and development of a human-centric learning experience platform

Objective

Development of a proof-of-concept prototype (POC) of an integrated easy-to-use learning experience platform for Silicon Beach Australia - a not-for-profit organisation that supports Australian start-ups - in collaboration with THNK.Innovation. This platform will enable content creators to share and incorporate content including text, audio, image and video across different learning platforms.

Approach

Our team of 2 IT students followed an agile development approach to

  • develop a concept with the customer
  • perform a technical risk analysis
  • rapidly prototype with short customer feedback loops.

Outcome

We have delivered a POC that integrates an AWS S3 backend into a Webflow front-end to deliver the following functionalities

  • upload and sharing of content files
  • creation of online courses with shared content
  • update notifications if shared content changes.

The prototype has been presented to the customer at the end of the project.

Our students have also delivered the necessary documentation for the setup and configuration of the prototype as well as an overview of encountered technical risks, open issues and future recommendations.

This project was funded with $11,000.00 by the SummerTech Live initiative of the Victorian government.
