Warren Centre Vacation Research Scholarship Program

The Warren Centre for Civil Justice is inviting applications for its Winter Vacation Research Scholarship Program, running in June and July 2026.

Vacation Research Scholarship Program

The program has a proud history of connecting students with faculty experts for hands-on, meaningful research experience. Scholars receive a stipend, have the scholarship recognised on their academic transcript, and build connections with faculty experts. Warren Centre Fellow Liam Elphick, who worked with fourth-year student Kristin Davis on a project exploring the common law history of discrimination law, highlights the lasting value of the program for students and staff:

"The opportunity to work one-on-one with a student on a research project is so valuable, and we both always end up learning a lot. I've ended up retaining longer-term connections with all of the students I've been lucky enough to have as my research scholar."

In Summer 2025–26, a generous donation allowed the Warren Centre to support eight Monash Law students on projects ranging from preventative law in family violence to AI agents in legal problem-solving and restorative practices in dispute resolution.

For the upcoming Winter round, available research projects cover pressing and socially significant topics, including:

  • Climate injustice in public housing
  • Family violence risk screening in family dispute resolution
  • Sex work decriminalisation and access to justice
  • Procedural justice in family court hearings
  • Grief, family violence and client experiences in legal services

Applications are now open — visit the Warren Centre Vacation Research Scholarship Program page for full details on projects and how to apply.
