Watch now: Resolving Residential Tenancy Disputes
There’s a new approach to resolving residential tenancy disputes in Victoria. This webinar is a helpful way to learn more about how it works and what it means.
Residential tenancy issues are one of the most common legal challenges faced by Victorians, often resulting in stress, delays, and expense. In 2025, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) introduced Rental Dispute Resolution Victoria (RDRV), a new fast, fair, and free way to resolve many tenancy disputes.
In this special Law Week event, leaders from VCAT and the Warren Centre for Civil Justice were in conversation about how RDRV operated and how it was reshaping the way tenancy disputes were resolved. The session explained how appropriate dispute resolution could reduce time, cost, and stress, and what this approach meant for the Victorian community. Participants learned how renters and rental providers could use RDRV, when it was appropriate, and how it fit within the broader dispute resolution system. There was also an opportunity to ask questions.
This session is suitable for renters, rental providers, community workers, and anyone interested in understanding one of Victoria’s most significant recent reforms in dispute resolution.
Presented by the Monash University Warren Centre for Civil Justice in partnership with Victoria Law Foundation Law Week.
