Sharlene Tengra

Park+ explores the integration of landscape in both, the physical and conceptual sense within the urban environment near the Queen Victoria markets. The project provides a critique on the adjacent flagstaff gardens which throughout most of the year is otherwise quiet, unactivated and uninspiring. The integration of live music at different scales across the site not only gives rise to a more activated and lively space but distracts visitors from the overwhelming noise caused by public transport junctions around the site. The continuous loop which wraps the buildings perimeter maximises use of the site whilst providing a generous opening in the form of a semi-private courtyard.
