This project is a proposal for a recreational space, nested within a nature reserve. The project deals with civic issues concerning a sense of ever-increasing consumerism in society and the sense of disconnection from self which has been compounded due to the recent pandemic. The design focuses on connecting the site to community, the built form to the site and creating a sense of community within the created spaces. As well as creating new architecture that is environmentally sustainable, this approach reflects a position that community, environment and physical and mental wellbeing are all tightly interconnected.
