The Giant Wild Goose Pagoda is the earliest and largest existing brick pagoda in the Tang Dynasty. Today, many emerging shopping malls have been built around it. My project takes one of the nearby shopping malls as a base, retaining the existing viewing area and restaurant on the roof which have a good view of the Pagoda and converting the remainder of the roof into a swimming center. Considering the influence of the Pagoda on business and culture, the project contributes an additional layer of experience and meaning in echoing with the viewing area and enriching activities on the roof. In particular, the diving platform with its height, conceptually connects with the Pagoda.
