My name is Saida Bakhsh and I am a detail-oriented architecture student pursuing Master of Architecture. I would like to think I have proficient skills in cutting-edge technologies such as BIM, 3D modelling, and 2D drawing. I love weight-lifting, reading for fun and I play Soccer.

Rethinking Urban Planning with Natural systems

My 4002 project aims to enhance urban planning through ecological regeneration, reducing the infrastructure footprint, and implementing a wetland filtration system in two sites. By utilising re-vegetation techniques to restore natural wetland ecosystems, it provides space for campervans and decor while benefiting the urban community. I carefully selected wetland vegetation that sprouts at various times of the year, creating a depression lined with clay to prevent pollution seepage.

The idea is to relocate the Décor shop, and provide the necessary storage needed. Since it is 500m away from the first site, the Britz caravan hire office is also located facing the back to activate both sides and allow pass byers. The park like area allows the exterior of the venue to be completely public, keeping its urban gesture intact while focusing on ecological regeneration. The steel grating system allows people to move through the site without harming the vegetation below. Essentially, I’m trying to give a big urban gesture to the people.
