Monash Art, Design and Architecture Graduate Exhibition 2024

I am a dedicated designer with a passion for creating functional, visually engaging spaces that foster community and interaction. My work focuses on the integration of structural elements and transparent materials to establish open, inviting environments. Inspired by precedents like OMA's emphasis on spatial connectivity, I aim to bring a sense of cohesion and accessibility to each project. Through careful attention to form, light, and materiality, my designs invite users to experience space in new, dynamic ways, enhancing both aesthetic appeal and practical utility.

Sectional Perspective of Piedimonte Community Hub

This sectional perspective showcases the Piedimonte Community Hub, a reimagined social and retail space designed to enhance community interaction and provide functional versatility. The project is composed of three main levels: a market and retail area on the ground floor, a café and lounge space on the first floor, and an event and recreational area on the second floor. Key features include open seating, greenery to connect indoor and outdoor environments, and spacious walkways. The design aims to create an inviting, multi-purpose venue where locals can gather, shop, and relax, while also highlighting sustainable practices and modern architectural elements.

"Fitzroy North Dental: A Heritage-Infused Community Hub"

This site analysis focuses on Fitzroy North Dental's location, capturing the community-centric nature, heritage, and accessibility of the area. Fitzroy North is a neighborhood known for its low-profile Victorian and Edwardian terraces and cottages, which maintain a charming historical character. Key surrounding elements include the Edinburgh Gardens and Route 11 tram, enhancing both connectivity and accessibility. The clinic itself is situated on St Georges Road, a prominent, easily accessible area with a steady flow of both pedestrian and vehicle traffic.

Layered Program Diagram of Piedimonte Development

This exploded axonometric program diagram visually separates the primary functional spaces across three levels. The ground floor hosts the supermarket, fulfilling essential retail needs. Above, the first floor, highlighted in yellow, houses community-centered amenities, creating a versatile space for gatherings and interaction. The second floor, in orange, accommodates apartments, adding residential functionality to the complex. This layered design emphasizes the building's integration of residential, retail, and communal spaces, supporting a cohesive, multifunctional environment within the urban fabric.

Recreation Area View

This interior render offers a glimpse into the recreational space within the Piedimonte Development, highlighting a pool table area. The softly blurred background reveals a bright, inviting lounge, encouraging community interaction and relaxation. The contrast between the dark pool table area and the light-filled lounge enhances the sense of depth and variety in spatial experiences, emphasizing the design's focus on balancing social engagement with recreational leisure.
