ChatterBox campaign, an inclusive storytelling project designed to amplify the voices of international students in Australia. Recognizing the unique challenges and transformative experiences of studying abroad, ChatterBox serves as both a platform and a catalyst for connection. Through a digital hub, social media presence, and in-person events, ChatterBox nurtures a deeper appreciation for multiculturalism and helps bridge cultural gaps, promoting a stronger sense of community.
ChatterBox - Website
The ChatterBox website is the main platform for international students in Australia to share their stories and engage the broader community with multiculturalism. It serves as a permanent repository, increasing visibility and understanding of diverse experiences. Participant data informs event planning and story booth placements, and generates content for social media and promotional materials, enhancing campaign visibility.
ChatterBox - Posters
The campaign posters are designed to foster community engagement and encourage students to share their unique experiences. Featuring a blank space and a provided prompt, these posters invite participants to write and share their stories directly. This creates a supportive environment where international students' stories are celebrated, enhancing visibility and promoting a sense of belonging.
ChatterBox - StoryBooth
The StoryBooth’s open layout creates a welcoming, accessible environment for students. Campaign colors evoke a friendly atmosphere, while organic shapes add playfulness and reflect diversity. A central counter provides information and answers questions. Interactive posters allow participants to share their stories directly, making the booth a collaborative and engaging storytelling space.
ChatterBox - Social Media
ChatterBox's Instagram posts foster a welcoming and informative environment for international students, encouraging connection and sharing. By highlighting student stories and hosting interactive sessions, we build engagement and drive traffic to the central website. Posts focus on aspects of student life like Australian slang, food, and community involvement, inviting followers to submit their own stories related to each theme.
ChatterBox - Slanguage Brochure
The “Slanguage” brochure serves as a playful guide to Australian slang, helping international students bridge cultural gaps and feel at home. Each page carefully explains slang terms like “Chuck a Sickie” and “Servo,” providing practical insights for everyday interactions. This light-hearted resource empowers students to use slang confidently, reinforcing ChatterBox’s mission of fostering cultural exchange and belonging.
