Hello, I'm Faye, an illustrator since childhood who transitioned into communications design out of curiosity. Growing up with a passion for the arts, I began exploring design and discovered a deep appreciation for its practices. I’m deeply passionate about print design, branding, and motion, where I believe design and illustration come together to work in perfect harmony. I think it’s essential to spark a sense of warmth in both illustration and design to empower those who interact with it, hence what I strive for in every project.

The ‘Breast’ Knowledge: Poster Series

A three-part poster series was designed to promote the campaign and introduce the upcoming event to the local community. The visual style and language of the posters is playful as the goals of the campaign is to encourage conversations on breast cancer. The posters aim to reach those who may view breast cancer as a taboo subject, helping them understand the importance of open conversations that could lead to early detection and, ultimately, save lives.

The ‘Breast’ Knowledge: Sidewalk Billboard

For the campaign, banners for walking pedestrians are to be hung throughout the Glen Eira District to inform the local community about the initiative. The design is intentionally simplistic to convey the essential details such as when and where, whilst also using the campaign’s visual language of cherries to convey our goals of promoting breast cancer awareness as well as reducing the stigma around discussing breast cancer.

The ‘Breast’ Knowledge: Booklet

As part of ‘The ‘Breast’ Knowledge’ campaign, a booklet was designed to help readers gain a better understanding of breast cancer, especially when it came to symptoms, treatments and side effects. The booklet fully embraces the usage of cherries when depicting breasts to create a lighter atmosphere around the topic due to the fact that the goal of this campaign is to encourage a more open conversation on breast cancer rather than viewing the topic as a taboo topic that should only be mentioned when needed.

The ‘Breast’ Knowledge: Booklet

To expand more on the booklet for ‘The ‘Breast’ Knowledge’ campaign, this booklet is to be given to the participants of the campaign before they enter the town hall, to allow them to learn while visiting the information booth available. The design style of the booklet is similar to the rest of the campaign's design, being simple but illustrative to avoid overwhelming the reader with paragraphs of text on such a heavy topic, ensuring an easier and more engaging experience.

The ‘Breast’ Knowledge: Stickers

Additionally, stickers are an essential part of the campaign as well. The designs promote the importance of understanding breast cancer symptoms for early detection by featuring visuals such as a hand gently examining a breast to emphasize the need for regular self-checks, and another design with the phrase ‘Nip it in the Bud’ to reinforce the message of early detection. It is planned for the stickers to be handed out to participants to serve as both reminders and potential conversation starters, furthering the campaign’s message.
