Hi I’m Jas. I am a communication design graduate with a passion for creating exciting and meaningful design. I have an interest in digital and physical image making, which compliments my love for visual identity and publication design. I see design as a tool and hope to use my design skills to make an impact. The ‘Activation’ brief from my final studio allowed me to do just that. The ‘Onelife’ campaign serves as a reminder that we only get one life and aims to encourage people to make the most of everyday. My engagement with this project taught me a lot about designing with a purpose and allowed me to develop my skills as a communication designer.
Onelife Campaign Poster Series
The Onelife poster series is a set of 9 interchangeable campaign posters. The series includes three typographic posters and six photographic posters, acting as a promotion of Onelife’s “one chance, one purpose, one life” brand statement. The photographic posters encourage public engagement with the campaign via social media and ask viewers to tag Onelife in their own pictures for a chance to feature in future campaign posters. Each poster also prompts viewers to visit the Onelife microsite via the QR code.
Onelife QR code stickers
As a secondary campaign element, QR code stickers were placed around public spaces to encourage passersby to engage with Onelife. With eight variations of statements aiming to inspire people to start living life to its fullest, the stickers act as smaller-scale promotional messages. The QR codes link to the Onelife microsite and encourage viewers to learn more about the Onelife campaign. The full collection of QR code stickers is featured on the Onelife microsite (enter via this QR code).
Onelife Microsite & Instagram
The Onelife microsite acts as a collective of all promotional material and products created for the Onelife campaign. When scanning the QR code you are provided with a brief outline of the campaign’s purpose and motive. From there, users can access free daily affirmations and reminders which they can download straight onto their phone. There is a shop section featured on the site that hosts the Onelife products which could hypothetically be purchased. The microsite also links directly to the Onelife Instagram account (@onechanceonepurposeonelife) and Instagram filter for users to interact with. The site also showcases the QR code stickers and campaign posters on display in public.
Onelife Reflect Journal & Respond Cards
The Onelife Reflect Journal and Respond Cards ask users to take life one day at a time. The journal consists of three sections; the Daily Journal, Gratitude Journal and DIY Journal, all encouraging users to reflect on their current life. The journal also includes goal setting activities to promote motivation into the future and a free sticker sheet. The Respond Cards share a similar purpose but ask users to respond to a series of activity and question cards. With 20 double sided cards that can be re-used, users are asked to actively takes steps to living a more fulfilling life.
Art Stuff Exhibition Identity
The Vision2025 brief involved designing an exhibition identity for a notable Australian figure. I selected the artist Jack Irvine, famous for his illustrative child-like style. Creating the identity for this exhibition, hosted at the State Library of Victoria, involved finding a balance between Irvine’s absurd ‘Art Stuff’ and a more sophisticated gallery environment. Pictured is the Art Stuff event invite.
The Queen’s Fund Brand Guidelines
The Not For Nothin’ brief asked me to redesign the identity of a not-for-profit organisation and curate a brand guidelines document to accompany the redesign. My chosen organisation was The Queen’s Fund and my redesign aimed to provide the fund with additional elements and applications to build a stronger brand image, as well as creating something that was more inviting and true to the organisation’s morals.
