Maddysyn Barthelson is a process based artist situated in Naarm, who specialises in ceramics and painting. Her practice revolves around art therapy for anxiety and OCD, through repetition, mark making and pattern.
Repeat, Repeat, Repeat, Repeat
A series of ceramic and screen printed tiles representing compulsions, that demonstrate the repetitive nature of OCD and anxiety, created through the process of pattern and mark making, for art therapy purposes.
Compulsions
A series of 150 hand built and hand piped ceramic tiles. This series aims to demonstrate the consuming nature of OCD and anxiety combined and is done so through intricate repeated patterns, to depict the repetitive nature of the two disorders. The process of creating is aimed at inducing a mind-numbing like state through focus and repetition for the artists own art therapy.
