Proposed Masterplan of the Botanic Ridge Nortwest Site
Quarrying near the gardens has long supplied materials for Cranbourne and Greater Melbourne’s roads. Looking ahead, planning for homes must integrate landscape considerations. With rising demand for housing and livable spaces, this land presents an opportunity to rehabilitate the scarred environment and generate economic value through thoughtful design. Botanic Ridge will be transformed to support population growth with medium-density housing, an educational campus, a self-sustaining community farm, indigenous revegetation, and restored ecological conditions. These initiatives will preserve green corridors and enable isolated species from the Botanical Gardens to flourish once more.
