Inksonic Typeface
Inksonic is a variable display typeface designed for the bold, high-energy identity of the Hypersonic Music Festival.
Inksonic's unique feature is the deliberate misuse of the inktrap. I took this classic technical element, and inverted it into a core aesthetic device. These deep, geometric inktraps create a fascinating tension between the font's black density and its white negative space.
Most importantly, Inksonic is a variable font, letting users adjust the size and depth of the inktraps fluidly, allowing users to increase the font's expressive intensity.
In the spirit of reconciliation Monash University acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
