DEAN'S AWARDS 2025

The Dean’s Awards for Excellence are an important recognition of the outstanding efforts of academic and professional staff in improving the human condition through education, research and professional services. We encourage faculty staff from all our schools, institutes, centres and programs to recognise innovation, achievement and impact and seek recognition through these awards.

It’s thanks to the efforts of our staff that Monash Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences is in such a strong position. We are ranked #31 in the world for medical and health in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025 by subject, and #13 in the world for nursing in the ShanghaiRankings Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2024, and our medical course is consistently ranked by our students as the best in Australia for student satisfaction and readiness to practice. I am so proud of the way we are shaping the future health workforce through innovative education that combines insights from industry, community and the health sector. Our courses are graduating highly skilled professionals poised to meet the demands of Australia’s dynamic research and medical sectors and beyond.

Our outstanding scientific discoveries were published in prestigious journals, including 35 articles published in The Lancet and Nature, 6 articles published in The New England Journal of Medicine and 7 articles published in Cell.

The nature of our work in hospitals, communities, industry and in public health means that we are driven by the desire to make a difference. It’s what we do - through critical, lifesaving research, in our education programs and in our university business. Monash Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences brings people together to solve health-related challenges through discovery science and clinical research, and a culture of excellence.
