Dr Dr Mahira Arooj
School of Translational Medicine

Dr Mahira Arooj, Senior Technical Officer in the School of Translational Medicine (STM), is a driving force behind digital transformation in operational and OHS practices. With a background in biomedical research, bioinformatics, and operations, she has independently led the development of high-impact digital systems that streamline compliance, training, and onboarding. Her flagship initiative, the STM Digital Local OHS Training Log, is now in use across all departments within the school and is scalable faculty-wide and university-wide. She also developed a digital after-hours access log that is adopted across the school, as well as a Fast-Track Onboarding Guide. In 2025, Mahira is expanding these tools with the rollout of a Digital Scheduled Drug Training Log and Digital General Local Area Induction Checklist, while also initiating plans for a digital logbook system for scheduled drug record keeping. She is also currently completing a Graduate Certificate in Project Management. Her work consistently exceeds role expectations and aligns with Monash’s strategic priorities in safety, compliance, and digital transformation.
