About us

The Monash Women’s Health Alliance (MWHAMonash Women's Health Alliance)

When women’s health is prioritised, outcomes improve not just for women, but for the families and communities they support. But too often traditional clinical care models, research methods, economic modelling, clinical guidelines and trials do not address women’s unique needs.

Monash clinicians, academics and researchers lead hundreds of programs across 10 faculties and five hospital networks directly supporting women’s health and wellbeing.

Monash Women’s Health Alliance (MWHA) is focused on coalescing all of these programs and relationships. The alliance is the central ‘front door’ into the Monash network for women’s health issues and solutions.

To focus our collective effort we have identified 10 key priority areas that impact on women's health and wellbeing.

Benefits of the alliance

The MWHA alliance can:

  • Provide a real world view of what is happening in the women’s health sector.
  • Assemble teams to generate compelling proposals to solve pressing issues impacting access to preventive measures, care and education for women, girls and gender diverse people.
  • Build modules that can be integrated into education programs; from short courses to undergraduate programs to enhance understanding of women's health factors.
  • Connect Monash University experts into business and government providing expertise across the women's health lifespan.

Via the MWHA we bring experts from a range of disciplines together to share research, ideas and build solutions.

What makes MWHA unique
