Wominjeka

Wominjeka Monash

Monday 20 July to Thursday 13 August, 2026

Wominjeka to all of our new and returning students

'Wominjeka' means 'To come with purpose' or more commonly ‘Welcome’ in the Woiwurrung language of the Wurundjeri people. Monash University's campuses are situated on the traditional lands of the Boonwurrung/Bunurong and Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation.

Wominjeka Monash is our chance to welcome you to campus with an official Welcome to Country ceremony delivered by an Aboriginal Elder. We acknowledge and pay respects to the Elders and Traditional Custodians of the land on which all our Australian campuses stand.

Each of our Australian campuses will host a Welcome to Country
