Orientation for semester two, 2026 will take place 20–24 July.

Most core orientation events are delivered on campus, and we strongly encourage students to attend as many sessions and activities as possible based on their course. Attending in person is the best way to meet other students, explore campus, connect with support services and get the most out of your orientation experience. Some faculties may also offer selected information sessions online.

The orientation website (www.monash.edu/orientation) is your go-to resource for all things related to starting your journey at Monash University. It provides comprehensive information about the orientation program, including schedules, and the O-Planner.

Orientation terminology

This refers to the several weeks the in-person orientation program falls within.

The event registration tool within the Orientation website that allows students to plan their orientation activities. Your O-Planner is personalised for you and will show you your Faculty orientation sessions based on your enrolment.
For example: A student studying a degree in Law will only see their Law information sessions. They won’t be able to see Biomed sessions.
You can use the search fields to assist your exploration of orientation events and activities based on campus location, activity type and others.

- Log into the O-Planner with your Monash account.
- View your personalised list of events/sessions.
- Use the search or filter to explore more events.
- Register early – you can deregister if your plans change.
- View your complete schedule in ‘MyPlanner’.

International Student Day is a comprehensive welcome day designed for all new international students to gain crucial visa information, learn about rights in Australia, and hear firsthand insights from current students. This full-day program equips you for a successful start to your Monash journey: connect with peers, engage in activities, and prepare for the challenges and adventures ahead.

Student Services Hub is the name of the central student zone for all student services and social connection. Drop by and connect with our services, or make new friends by joining a community, club or society.

Faculty orientation is a time to get a feel for your course, meet your peers and meet your academics. Attending your faculty sessions will ensure you are prepared to study from week 1 of semester.

Future Ready is the title of the orientation’s career and industry connection program at the Clayton campus for all students.
Activities include:
- Industry and Monash expert speakers
- Industry networking with over 15 partners
- Career workshops
- Student Academic Success workshops

Graduate Industry Evening is a free event for all graduate Monash students to welcome them to the University and provide an opportunity to network with industry leaders. There are several activities for graduate students to engage with during the course of the evening including:
- Keynote by an industry guest speaker
- Networking with industry partners
- LinkedIn profile photo booth.

'Wominjeka' means 'To come with purpose' or more commonly ‘Welcome’ in the Woiwurrung language of the Wurundjeri people. Monash University's campuses are situated on the traditional lands of the Boonwurrung/Bunurong and Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation.
Wominjeka Monash will be interwoven into multiple orientation events.

Orientation planner

The Orientation Planner will be open for students to register for events at the end of June 2026.

The event registration tool within the Orientation website that allows you to plan and register for your orientation activities.

Your Orientation Planner (O-planner) is personalised for you based on what you will be studying and will show you your Faculty orientation sessions and special events based on your enrolment.
Example: An undergraduate student studying a degree in Law will only see their Law information sessions and events tailored for undergraduate students, like Monash Jump-start. They won’t be able to see Biomed sessions or events for postgraduate students.
You can see the search fields to assist your exploration of orientation events and activities based on campus location, activity type and others.

My Planner is a feature in the O-Planner that allows you to view all the events you have registered for. You can find this in the menu next to the ‘All Activities’ tab in the O-planner.
You can view your daily schedule, access your event QR code ticket and unregister for events all from My Planner.

We understand that plans change and that’s OK. If you can’t make it or accidentally registered for the wrong event, please free up your spot for another student to enjoy.
Simply head to your Orientation planner, select My Planner to find all the events you have registered for and select the event you no longer want to attend and click ‘remove event’.

You won’t receive a notification upon registration, however you can keep track of your events using the My Planner feature within the O-Planner (see above). You will receive a reminder email the day before your registered event, letting you know your event schedule for the following day and links to your QR code event ticket.
You can use this email to gain quick and easy access when checking in at events.
International Student Day

Make your way to Clayton campus on 20 July to participate in International Student Day where you can meet other international students and get organised for a successful Orientation Week.
Experience a warm welcome and a vibrant, diverse community ready to help you settle into life in Melbourne. You’ll also have the chance to connect with Monash peer mentors who will be on hand throughout the day to support you, answer questions and help you feel at home on campus.

This full‑day program is packed with activities and experiences designed to help you feel at home from day one. You’ll hear insights from current students, discover key support services, and take part in interactive activities that make it easy to meet people and build friendships across the international student community. It’s the perfect chance to kick off your Monash journey, connect with students from around the world, and explore everything campus life has to offer.

All attendees will receive lunch and refreshments throughout the day to keep you fuelled for all the activities we have programmed.

No, alcohol won't be served at this event. There will be non-alcoholic beverage options available including free water.

Yes, you must register through the O-Planner. You will have to check-in at the event upon arrival.

To plan your travel to and from Clayton campus, please visit the Getting to Monash website.
Regular campus shuttle buses will be operating to help get students to Clayton campus. Monash students can use the free shuttle buses to travel between campuses by scanning their M-Pass ID upon boarding.

Wear comfortable casual clothing suitable for a full day of activities.
Bring:
- Your Monash Student ID (required for check‑in and shuttle buses)
- A reusable water bottle to stay hydrated
- A notebook or device if you’d like to take notes during the Essentials session
- Weather‑appropriate items (e.g., hat, sunscreen, or umbrella)

- Arrive early for check‑in: Check‑in opens at 9:30am. Arriving on time helps you settle in and start the day smoothly.
- Don’t miss the Essentials session: This one‑hour session is your Orientation cheat sheet, covering key support services, campus tips, and how to make the most of your first weeks at Monash.
- Late arrivals: Aim to be on time; late entry makes it harder to place you in the right room.
- Commit to the full day: Each part of the program builds on the last, so staying all day gives you the complete experience.
- Get involved: Ask questions, take notes, join activities, and explore the services that will support your life in Melbourne.

The Student Services Hub is an on-campus activity where you can explore all the information and resources you need to get on your way from study support services to Faculty student associations and other student life experiences. Discover your one-stop spot for all the info to launch your Monash journey on the right foot.

All new students will be able to visit the Student Services Hub as part of their orientation experience and is a great way to meet new friends, join a club and/or society, and find out more about student support services that will help you thrive in your academic studies and university life.
Join Your Community

Join Your Community is a hub where you can sign up and become part of the Monash experience, building the knowledge and confidence to succeed. From becoming a mentee to attending free social events with people who share your interests, you’ll find opportunities to connect, lead and form lasting friendships — all while building your community at Monash. During Orientation week, you’ll also find free activities running throughout the event times, plus current students on hand to share their experiences, answer questions and help you feel at ease.

All new students can visit the Join Your Community hub to connect with fellow students, meet student groups and experience the energy of campus life. It’s your chance to discover clubs, communities and a wide range of free events and activities happening throughout the year – from fun social events to peer mentoring programs – designed to help you feel supported, connected and set up for success in your first semester.
Future Ready

Make your way to Clayton campus on 22 July for Future Ready. This event will get you primed for university success and a career that could take you anywhere. You’ll hear from inspiring Alumni and Industry guest speakers.

Connect with industry leaders. Attend workshops to learn how you can improve your academic performance, build your personal brand and expand your professional network. Activities include:
- Industry and Monash expert speakers

Faculty content will continue to be offered on this day to help prepare you for the journey ahead.

Opportunities to meet your peers and feel connected to the Monash community will continue through semester. These include campus events and international-specific events.
Check with your faculty regarding any late-arrival sessions.

If you are unable to travel to Australia before Orientation, we recommend contacting your faculty to follow up on course-specific activities provided by your faculty.
