Disability Peer Mentoring Program
This program aims to help students learn from the experience of others while expanding and developing their social network at Monash. Students registered with Disability Support Services can apply and be matched with a peer mentor from their faculty.
Getting a mentor
We match you with a student mentor who can assist you with settling into university life. Your mentor can assist with:
- advice on university life
- finding your way around campus
- getting answers to your questions about your course or enrolment
- using Monash services, facilities and online systems
- breaking the ice at social events on campus
- improving your confidence.
You need to be registered with Disability Support Services.
Becoming a mentor
We want every student to feel supported in a way that works best for them. If you’re interested in becoming a mentor, you could assist students registered with Disability Support Services with a 1:1 peer mentoring experience.
As a 1:1 mentor, you’ll share your knowledge with your mentee and answer their questions about adjusting to life at Monash, while gaining important employability skills and opportunities to participate in career development events. You’ll also be able to network with other like-minded student leaders in the program, and make a positive impact on others.
To apply for this opportunity, complete the application for your faculty and make sure you complete the DSS 1:1 mentoring section of your Peer Mentor application.
