We offer a free airport pickup service for eligible international students arriving in Australia for the first time. The service picks you up from Melbourne Tullarmarine Airport (MEL) and takes you to your accommodation.

Eligibility

To use the airport pickup service, you must be an international student commencing your studies at Monash University in 2026, and either:

• an Australia Awards Scholar
• an Exchange or Study Abroad student from a partner institution overseas
• under 18 years of age
• a recipient of a Monash University scholarship (undergraduate or postgraduate by coursework students only), or
• a recipient of a fully funded foreign entity or state-owned enterprise sponsorship.

How to make a booking

You need to book your airport pick-up at least four working days before you arrive in Melbourne.

If you're under 18, you can use the booking form to request to have a family member accompany you (we'll assess your request on a case-by-case basis).

The service is operated by Aero Corporate Cars. You’ll get a confirmation email from Aero with instructions for finding your driver when you arrive. If you need to change your booking, you must let Aero know at least 14 hours before your arrival.

Drop-off location

Your driver can only take you to one address. They can’t make stops for you to collect keys, buy food or change currency. If you need to collect keys, arrange for someone to meet you at the airport 45 minutes after your flight lands, or at your drop-off location.

If you’re going to Monash University Accommodation, these are the three drop-off locations (choose the one where you’ll be staying):

• Urban Community Administration Office at 38 College Walk, Monash Clayton campus
• Residential Village Administration Office at 58 College Way, Monash Clayton campus
• Peninsula Residential Office at Level 1 Building U, Monash Peninsula campus.

Luggage allowance

Your luggage allowance for the car ride is:

• two pieces of luggage up to 76cm (78–80cm suitcases are okay)
• one carry-on piece up to 55cm.

A person accompanying you can only bring one piece of luggage (in addition to your luggage allowance).

A backpack over 40cm counts as a piece of luggage, but a small item like a handbag or backpack under 32cm doesn’t count.

When you book your airport pick-up, you’ll need to tell us how much luggage you’re bringing with you.

If you bring more luggage than planned, or exceed the luggage allowance, your driver may not be able to pick you up.

Contacting and meeting your driver

Turn on international roaming

Before you arrive at the airport, make sure your phone has international roaming enabled – or WhatsApp or WeChat installed – in case your driver needs to contact you. There’s free wi-fi at the airport.

Aero drivers always use the official flight arrival time for pick-ups so you don’t need to notify them about flight delays.

Where to meet your driver

If you arrive at Terminal 2 (international) at the Melbourne Tullamarine Airport (MEL), collect your luggage and clear immigration. After you leave the customs area, you'll meet your driver at the Welcome Centre to your left.

It usually takes about 50 minutes to clear immigration and collect luggage – don’t worry, our drivers will wait for you.

If you arrive at a domestic terminal, your driver will meet you by the luggage carousel for your flight.

Your driver will hold a ‘MONASH’ sign for easy identification. Check your driver’s identification, such as an Aero or Monash University sign. They will have your name and contact number (provided in the booking). Don’t accept rides from anyone who doesn’t work for Aero.
