Special arrangements
You’re required to sit your assessments at the time and location scheduled in Allocate+, but in some circumstances you can apply for special arrangements to adjust your assessment start time or location.
Semester one final assessments (8–26 June)
You’re expected to attend your on-campus eExam in person. You can apply to change the location of your final assessment only if you’re participating in a Monash-facilitated program overseas at the time of your scheduled final assessment (e.g. GIG, Monash Global Campus Intensives).
You won’t be able to sit your on-campus eExam remotely if you’re away on holiday or travelling, so plan ahead and avoid booking a trip until after Friday 26 June.
You may be eligible to defer your final assessment if you can’t attend it due to exceptional circumstances beyond your control.
If you’re registered with Disability Support Services, you should discuss alternative assessment arrangements with your Disability Adviser.
Eligibility
You can apply to adjust your assessment start time or location if:
- you don’t have an appropriate home environment to sit your off-campus eExam
- you’re in an unsuitable time zone to sit your off-campus eExam
- you’re unable to sit your assessment because you're participating in a Monash-facilitated program overseas at the time of your assessment
- you’re registered with Monash’s Elite Student Performer Support Program and you’re unable to attend your final assessment due to mandatory performance requirements
- you need to start your final assessment earlier or later due to religious obligations (such as daily prayers, Friday Jummah prayers or incoming Sabbath time).
When you're not eligible
You’re not eligible for special arrangements if you're travelling or on holidays, so don’t plan any trips during your assessment period.
You’re not eligible for special arrangements if you have an illness (including COVID-19). However, you may be eligible to defer your assessment through special consideration (you’ll need to provide the required supporting documents).
Do not, under any circumstances, submit fraudulent documentation
Penalties for submitting a forged, altered or falsified document can include exclusion from the University, a fine of up to AUD $1,000 and a permanent record in Monash systems.
To find out more about your responsibilities (and what you should do if you don’t have the required supporting documents), see our documentation integrity page.

Unsuitable time zone
If you’re in a time zone where your final assessment is scheduled to start before 5am or finish after 12.30am in your local time, you can apply to have your assessment start time moved to the next suitable timetabled session.
If there isn’t another suitable session on the same day an adjustment may not be possible.
Unsuitable home environment
You should make sure you have a suitable environment to complete your assessment off campus. But if this isn’t possible (eg. a poor internet connection or you don’t have access to a quiet, private space), you can apply to complete your assessment on campus.
Religious obligations
If you need to start your final assessment slightly earlier or later so you can meet your religious obligations, you can apply to have your start time adjusted.
Illness, including COVID-19 (not eligible)
You won’t be able to apply for special arrangements due to illness, but if you’re too unwell to sit your assessment, you may be eligible for a deferred assessment through special consideration. You’ll need to provide the required supporting documents.
