Your Monash student ID number is a key part of your Monash identity. Your ID number is unique to you and is used to access many Monash services, such as the library and exam results.

How to get a Monash ID number

VTAC students

To get your Monash student ID number you need to:

1. Create your Monash account (using your VTAC ID) to get your Monash username and email address, and set your password.
2. Log into the Web Enrolment System (WES) with your Monash username. Your student ID number will be displayed at the top of the screen.

Direct entry students (international and domestic)

Monash sends your student ID number to you in the offer letter, which we send to you by email or post

Past students

If you'd like to buy an academic record (transcript) or student letter, but you don’t know your student ID number, contact us at Monash Connect – all you need to do is provide your full name, date of birth, and the details of the course you studied.

Forgotten your student ID number?

If you already have a student ID number, but you’ve forgotten it, here’s how you can find it:

• check your physical or digital M-Pass
• log into the Web Enrolment System (WES) – your student ID number will be displayed at the top of your screen
• check your course offer letter
• if you’re a CSP or FEE-HELP student, check your Commonwealth Assistance Notice (CAN)
• ask our virtual assistant – it only takes a moment, and you'll need to log in with your Monash student account.

You can contact us at Monash Connect, but first we need to check you have the right to be given this ID number. By doing this, we're abiding by the Australian privacy laws. When you message Monash Connect, give us your:

1. Full name (while studying at Monash)
2. Date of birth
3. Course you studied at Monash
4. The years you studied at Monash.

We'll email your student ID number once we've checked your details against our student database.
