What is the census date?

The census date is the last day:

• before you become liable for fees for the units you're enrolled in
• you can withdraw from a unit without Withdrawn showing on your academic record.

Making enrolment changes before the census date

Before making changes to your enrolment, check your course rules (for core units, prerequisites or corequisites) or talk to your faculty.

If you're struggling with a unit or with your study load, you might want to consider dropping a unit. If you decide to do this, make sure you drop the unit by 11.59pm on the census date (Melbourne time).

Tuesday 31 March: Census date for semester one units

International students

You must ensure your study load is in compliance with your student visa by maintaining an enrolment of 48 credit points per academic year, unless you have permission to underload. For more information, see underloading.
