Student academic progress
Student academic progress
Academic progress is the University’s way of checking in and helping you find the right support to successfully complete your degree.
About academic progress
Academic progress is about keeping you on track with your studies. So twice a year we review your progress to see whether you need any additional support to successfully complete your course.
Receiving an email about unsatisfactory progress
If you receive an email telling you that your progress is unsatisfactory, there’s no need to worry. We’ll tell you what you need to do to help get you back on track.
Attending an Academic Progress Committee hearing
Find the information you need, so that you know how to prepare and what to expect on the day of your hearing.
Hearing decisions
The outcome of a hearing will vary depending on your circumstances and may include enrolment with conditions, recommended actions you need to take and, in some cases, exclusion.
Appeals and reviews
If you aren’t happy with the outcome of the academic progress process, you may have the option to appeal or request a review.
Getting support and advice
If you need support or advice, we can offer counselling, financial advice, and health and wellbeing support. Your student association can also provide you with free and confidential support, advice, and representation.
