Become an adviser
Through this role you can continue your own learning, not just from textbooks but from lived experiences. As you support members you will grow in empathy, emotional intelligence and self-awareness.
You’ll face challenges in this role for sure – maybe it’s managing competing priorities, or situations without simple solutions, or conversations that feel uncomfortable. But it is in discomfort that real growth happens. The staff working within our student community groups are there to support you as you carry out the role. Through courage and compassion, you can transform these challenges into opportunities. If you hear a calling towards leadership, community and personal growth, then apply to be a Community Adviser. Know that you already have the abilities within, all you need is the opportunity to lead.
