Digital badges
At Monash, we're committed to providing you with the tools to achieve your personal and professional goals. Our digital badges enhance your ability to demonstrate your skills and knowledge.
Digital badges recognise your achievements for specific units, allowing you to showcase your demonstrated employability and professional skills above and beyond program completion. By sharing your digital badge, you can demonstrate credible achievement with your prospective employers and professional network, and enhance your personal brand and career.
What is a digital badge?
Digital badges are a verifiable representation of an award, accomplishment or skill acquisition. It looks like a visual image or a logo, but it’s actually much more: it’s a dynamic portable icon that’s embedded with qualifying information, which you can share online.
Monash badges can be accessed through the Credly digital credentialing platform. Credly works with Monash and other credible organisations to provide digital badges to individuals, worldwide. There is no fee for a Credly account.
An easy way to stand out to employers by highlighting your skills and experiences, digital badges also offer labour market insights and allow you to search and apply for job opportunities.
Another bonus is being able to receive digital badges while you’re studying, so you don’t have to wait until your course finishes to include it on your CV or LinkedIn.

How to earn a digital badge
Your first step is to enrol in an eligible program. If you complete the program and meet the criteria to earn a badge, the program coordinator will email you to confirm this.
- Next, you’ll receive an email from admin@credly.com.
- Click the button in the email to accept your badge.
- Create and confirm your Credly account.
- Accept your badge.
Now that you have your digital badge, you can share it with your networks.
For more about this platform, its security and privacy settings, see the section on security and privacy.
Programs offering digital badges
Eligible programs have different criteria on what will earn you a digital badge – this will be listed on each program webpage. These are select co-curricular programs that demonstrate exceptional skill building. We’ll update this page as more programs begin offering digital badges for outstanding achievement.
See below for the current units and programs offering digital badges. We can’t issue digital badges for achievements made before the date indicated on each tile.
