USA federal government loans
USA federal government loans
If you're from the United States, you may be eligible for a federal loan to help finance your study at Monash.
US Federal Student Aid (FSA) Program updates
Due to recent legislative changes, the information on these US federal government loan web pages only applies to students who received a disbursement of US Federal Student Aid before 30 June 2026.
Effective 31 December 2026 Monash University will withdraw from the US Federal Direct Loan (Title IV) Program and will transition to ‘deferment-only’ status. This means that current and future students studying at Monash can no longer apply for a US Federal Direct Loan, so please consider this in your financial planning. Current students who already have a US Federal Direct Loan may be able to defer repayment.
If you plan to enrol and access US Federal Student Aid before 31 December 2026, contact us for information relevant to your situation.
If you wish to apply for funding as a US student after that date, you may like to consider applying for a private student education loan.
