Understanding your fees statement
Your fees statement lists your course and unit enrolment and the fees due.
To find out when your fees are due, see course fees payment dates.
You can also access your statement and past payments in WES.
Changes to enrolment
We'll send you a new fees statement within a few working days if you:
- make changes to your enrolment (adding or dropping units)
- enrol in a different course
- move from a full-fee place to a Commonwealth supported place
- move from a Commonwealth supported place to a full-fee place
- change from an international student to an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
If you're a research degree student, we'll send you a new fees statement following any periods of approved leave (excluding annual leave) and upon submission of your thesis.
We'll email the fees statement to your Monash student email account as an attachment.
Course transfers
If you haven’t enrolled in your new course and you’ve received a fees statement for your current course, you still need to pay the fees before the due date – this is to avoid a block (encumbrance) on your account.
Since you’re changing courses, we’ll apply any paid fees to your new course. If your new course is cheaper, you can apply for a refund of the difference. If it’s more expensive, you’ll receive a fees statement for the outstanding amount.
If you’re studying at the English Language Centre and want to change English courses, you should contact Monash College to discuss your fees.

If there's a zero balance
If you have a $0.00 balance, you’ll see the message – No payments required, thank you – on your statement. This will show if you:
- paid your fees in full
- are a Commonwealth supported student (CSP) and choose to defer your Student Contribution Amount (SCA)
- are a domestic fee-paying student using FEE-HELP
- are eligible for and have chosen to use SA-HELP to defer your Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF)
- have a Monash scholarship that has paid your fees in full for this fee period
- have a full sponsorship under a Monash recognised sponsorship.
If this is the case, you don't owe any fees and you should just keep this statement for your records.
