How to apply to graduate
Once you’re in your final teaching period, check when applications open so you can apply to graduate at the earliest possible time.
Graduation is not automatic. To graduate, you need to submit a graduation application through the Graduation Portal. You’ll be able to apply when you’re nearing completion of your degree. In most cases, you can apply before completing your course requirements.
You’ll need to select how you want to graduate, either by:
- attending a ceremony, or
- graduating in absentia.
If you’d like to attend a ceremony, you’ll need to pick your preferred graduation round (ceremonies are held in Australia, China, Indonesia and Malaysia throughout the year). You’ll be able to choose which month you’d like to graduate in, but you’re not able to request a particular date or time.
Payment
You can pay with an Australian credit or debit card (mastercard or visa), Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay, or WeChat Pay.
You’ll need to pay for your graduation ceremony when you apply through the Graduation Portal.

Keep your contact details up-to-date
We use the same email address you used when applying to graduate, so make sure it's correct and check for mail regularly.
