Award certificate (testamur)

Graduates receive both a hard copy and digital version of their award certificate (testamur). For details, see how to receive your documents.

Certificate details

Hard copy certificates with conferral dates after 1 April 2025 will be provided in A3 format.

Details shown on your award certificate (testamur):

  • your name
  • your award title
  • your specialisation (if applicable)
  • conferral date (the date of your graduation round)
  • possibly up to two majors (or extended majors), as outlined below
  • the University seal.

About seven weeks before your graduation round, we'll ask you to check that your name and award title are correct.

Masters awarded with distinction

If you’re graduating after 7 July 2021 with a masters by coursework degree and you have a WAM of 80 or above, you’ll see awarded with distinction on your award certificate. This wording will remain the same for any WAM of or above 80 – regardless of the specific value.

Common uses

Graduates often frame and display their certificates in their place of business (e.g. doctor's office). This provides clients with printed evidence of your qualification to work in that field.
