Special requirements
You can list any special requirements when you apply to graduate, or until the cut-off date for making changes. See update, defer or cancel your application for deadlines.
We’re committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all graduands and their guests can enjoy a memorable graduation day.
Your accessibility needs are reviewed individually. We can arrange:
- assistance on stage (due to injury or disability)
- Auslan interpreters (in ceremonies)
- wheelchair access.
For guests, we can arrange a wheelchair bay or aisle seat, if required.
Let us know by adding this information in the special requirements field of your graduation application in the Graduation Portal, so we can work with you to ensure a seamless experience on the day.
If bringing children to your graduation, one of your guests will need to supervise them during the ceremony, which runs up to 90 minutes.
During the ceremony, children cannot:
- sit with you while you’re waiting to receive your award
- go on stage with you.
Infants and toddlers can get restless, so please arrive early to secure guest seats near the aisle, just in case they need to make an early exit.
You can't take your pram into the Robert Blackwood Hall. So please leave it in the space set aside in the foyer.
Do children need tickets?
Children under one can come along free of charge, but each must be seated on the lap of a guest who can supervise. Children one year old and above will need a ticket to attend.
There’s also another option for children you may want to consider. We’re live-streaming the ceremonies on the large screen at the Northern Plaza in the Graduation Precinct. This may be preferable if you have another adult available to supervise your child/children.
