Give Respect Art Exhibition and Competition

Monash is committed to promoting respectful behaviour, both on campus and in the wider community. That's why we established the Give Respect Initiative after the release of the 2017 Change the Course Report.

In 2019, the Give Respect Initiative partnered with the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion team to create the Give Respect Art Competition and Exhibition.

About the competition

The Give Respect Art Competition and Exhibition uses the power of art to convey lived and living experiences. Through this competition, we've seen some truly thought-provoking artwork that reflects the diverse experiences of our community.

In 2023, we gave the competition a refresh to align with our new Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Framework. The creative prompt was changed from 'Art that evokes reflection about respect' to 'Art that evokes reflection about equity, diversity, or inclusion.'
