The 2025 Monash Suzhou Orientation
On February 24, 2025, the Southeast Monash University Joint Graduate School held its orientation at the Monash Suzhou Research Institute, where 548 outstanding new students were welcomed, signaling the beginning of an inspiring academic journey.
This event was hosted by Professor Jianglong Yu, Vice President of Education (Monash Suzhou).

Professor Huanting Wang, Pro Vice-Chancellor and President (Suzhou), delivered the opening speech. His address was followed by Professor Hancheng Mei, Party Secretary of Southeast University (Suzhou campus), who encouraged students to embrace the program’s bilingual curriculum as a gateway to international opportunities.
The orientation also featured insightful presentations from academic leaders, including Professor Sankar Bhattacharya, as the Head of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, highlighting the department’s cutting-edge research and PhD program. Dr. Gregory Cusack, Chief Coursework Officer (joined virtually), reinforced Monash’s dedication to world-class, collaborative education and 11 other course coordinators, who provided overviews of each program.




A symbolic plaque unveiled the event, launching the SEU-Monash Suzhou JGS Alumni Networking and Student Employment Support Office—marking a significant milestone in fostering campus culture and alumni enggement.
