SEU-Monash Joint PhD Program
The SEU-Monash Joint PhD Program facilitates collaborative research between Monash and SEU researchers so that our PhD students can draw upon the strengths of our two universities and participate in our collaborative research projects.
This Joint PhD Program typically takes between three and four years of full-time study to complete. The bulk of these studies are undertaken at the Monash Suzhou, China. Students also receive the benefit of the 'Australian experience', with one year of the program offered at the Monash campus in Australia.
Students will be jointly supervised by supervisors from both universities throughout their research. Those students who successfully complete their studies in the joint program will graduate with both a Monash and SEU PhD degree.
Eligibility
All applicants must meet both SEU's Admission Requirements and Monash’s minimum Academic Qualifications and English Language Proficiency for PhD admission.
Students who are Chinese citizens will need to contact their professors at SEU to discuss their eligibility for the program.
For those who narrowly miss Monash's English language requirements, a 10 week English bridging program may be the ideal way to get your English up to standard.

Fees and Scholarship
Students should contact their home institution (Monash or SEU) for scholarship opportunities as well as tuition fees information.
A living allowance (or top-up) scholarship may be available to eligible students when based at Monash Australia.
Application
To apply, please apply to your proposed Home Institution. Home Institution will assist you in completing all relevant documents, including the Joint Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Southeast University and Monash University Form and Joint PhD Student Schedule. These documents will be forwarded to the Host Institution for consideration.
