The Hub hosts delegates from the Korean National Police Agency
Over the last few months, Hub members Hyein (Ellen) Cho, Ben Scott, Naomi Pfitzner, Bridget Harris and Luna Nakada have facilitated a four-week training program for 10 delegates from the Korean National Police Agency (KNPA).
The program covered a range of topics associated with preventing and responding to gender-based violence, with a particular emphasis on prevention, and non-adversarial responses to harm.

The delegates heard from experts in the field on issues such as: older Australian's experiences of violence; gender-based violence and community responses to harm in First Nations communities; technology facilitated gender-based violence; violence, borders and migration; legal definitions of, and policy responses to, gender-based violence; the importance of lived experience expertise; and, cognitive and mental impairment and gender-based violence. This program was only made possible through the generous time contributions made by all those who shared their expertise with the delegates.

We also coordinated site-visits to and from organisations who generously set aside time to speak to the delegates about the important work they do in the field, including the Neighbourhood Justice Centre, the Australia New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency, the Korean Consulate General, Sexual Assault Services Victoria, Victoria Police, Respect Victoria, the AiLECS Lab, Southside Justice and The Salvation Army.
It was a privilege to host the delegates and we look forward to the possibility of future collaboration!
